RETECH 2009 Conference in Las Vegas

GENI provided a great opportunity for our interns/volunteers to attend 2009 RETECH conference in Las Vegas. Through the conference experience, GENI interns and volunteers explored their understanding of renewable energy. Once again, we confirmed the importance of tapping renewable energy and are glad to be part of the great trend.

"People with whom I spoke were impressed by GENI's mission. We are on the right track! During the conference sessions, I was able to understand how renewable energy could affect our national security, business, and communities. I also realized the challenges of renewable energy. Now we will have more to work on!"

    - Alice Lee

"RETECH was a first time experience where I had the opportunity to meet and talk to people within the industry. It was a great convention that asserts the magnitude of the renewable energy industry and allowed a glimpse of some of the fascinating research being conducted by a vast list of companies and institutions. I thank GENI for the eye opening experience that has encouraged me to look forward in participating, on my own behalf, in future conventions."

    - Alvaro Garcia

"Attending RETECH provided an opportunity to speak with people who have the ability to effect large scale change in renewable energy development. During the sessions on Finance, Policy (Domestic and International), China, Biomass and Biofuel I gained working knowledge and identified key areas where I need to develop a more thorough understanding. Because GENI promotes the foundation which makes transmission of renewables possible, our message was well received."

    - Anne Tolch

"I enjoyed the show very much. The exhibitors were friendly and eager to educate you. I missed seeing more information on Biofuels, Biomass and Hydrogen, my special interest."

    - Hans Straub

"RETECH 2009 was a complex yet inspirational experience. The plethora of information and people was exhilarating. Learning about what other companies, organizations, and governments are doing as a part of the renewable energy movement was impressive. This is an opportunity that only GENI could offer me, and I've benefited greatly from the experience."

    - Kaye

"In attending RETECH, I was looking for missing pieces of information for The Village Infrastructure Project. Tucked in between the utility scale renewable vendors and over lunch, I found several contacts who provided great resource information. Creativity was sparked by seeing several large scale operations of waste management with potential for cottage industries at the village level. Each insight advanced the project to a new level of clarity and completeness."

    - Patricia Stevens

"As a beginner in the field of renewable energy, the trade show gave me the opportunity to learn about the advanced technologies which are currently available. I discovered that there are a lot of resources the existence existing of which I hadn't even known! It was a really good experience full of discoveries and augurs well for the future."

    - Sylvie Duval

"What impressed me the most in the event was the number of states and countries attending the conference to attract business. This is interesting because it is evidence that renewable energy is the new and upcoming technology."

    - Trevor Erberich
