The
current U.S. administration has chosen to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.
Conversely the renewable energy commitments made by many states and cities have
remained intact.
Nine states have joined to form the United States Climate
Alliance to implement the Paris accord’s goal of cutting carbon emissions by as
much as 28% from 2005 levels by 2025. This Alliance is being buttressed at the
city level by 187 mayors of major US cities like Los Angeles, Boston, San
Diego, New York, and Chicago, who call themselves the Climate Mayors.
There are leaders
and laggards on this map. What’s the Renewable Energy pledge in your state and
city?
