Global Warming Tipping Points
UN Secretary General: 'we are losing the race'

Dear GENI Friend,

Global warming tipping pointsPrior to the recent climate conference in Madrid, millions of young people around the world walked from their classrooms to demand action.  16 year old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg struck a nerve by saying:

"I don't want your hope. I want you to panic, and act as if the house is on fire."

Time is running out – or if you are unlucky you have already felt the wrath of our changing climate.

UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, warns us that "we are losing the race." He challenges every nation, city and citizen to take a stand – committing to a rapid shift to renewable energy for generating power and away from fossil fuels... plus planting billions of trees on every continent.

We know what to do when the house is on fire.  We act immediately to put it out. In an emergency we identify the problems – the tipping points – and we quickly change our actions.
