TIRANA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- An agreement on construction of an interconnection line between Albania and Macedonia is expected to be signed later this year as Albania is seeking to increase its electricity transmission capacities by building more high voltage transmission lines with the neighboring countries, according to ATA.
Albanian Ministry of Energy sources said on Monday that work is underway to secure the funding for this new energy transmission line, which allows Albania to further expand to the regional energy market.
Along with projects designed to improve interconnection capacities, a series of other projects are set to be implemented during this year to further strengthen Albania's transmission system through investments in the existing and new electricity transmission lines.
