Ethiopia to build 10 hydroelectric
projects

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia 11/19/09 (PennWell) --
The government of Ethiopia said it will build 10
hydroelectric projects over the next decade at a
cost of US$10 billion, according to Nazret.com, an
online news service in Ethiopia.
The projects’ combined capacity would be 15,000
MW, said the Ethiopian Electric and Power Corp. Ethiopia
recently completed the 300-MW Tekeze hydroelectric
project, the largest public works project in Ethiopia’s

Ethiopia plans to open three more hydroelectric
projects in coming months and already has agreed
to provide power supplies to Kenya, Sudan and Dijibouti.
