The update holds information about solar and meteorological data for 1,454 locations
in the US and its territories.
The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
has released an updated 20-year version of
its US National Solar Radiation Database.
The web-based report covers a period between 1991 and 2010, including, for the
first time, data from 2006 to 2010. It holds
information about solar and meteorological
data for 1,454 locations in the US and its
territories. It also provides improved cloud
algorithms for modelling solar radiation data
and a State University of New York model for
gridded data based on satellite observations.
The updated
project was completed in partnership with Clean
Power Research and the National Climate Data
Centre.
