Casey Carroll

During my internship at GENI, I worked on two different projects that promoted GENI's education initiative and goals to interconnect renewable energy resources globally. My first project focused on the World Game, which involved 100 people representing all nations on a global map the size of a basketball court. I organized gaming materials of several global business firms, the United Nations, world health and environmental organizations. Throughout the process, I gained a deeper understanding of global resource distribution and the importance of conservation.

My second project promoted GENI's active communication with several global organizations on the issues of climate change, poverty reduction, and peace. Specifically, I helped complete the contact lists for the new UN leadership, as well as key individuals of the Clinton Global Initiative and the World Economic Forum. This project gave me a greater appreciation for the many world leaders who are committed to improving the quality of human life and who help GENI achieve enormous strides.

Interning at GENI taught me that every voice matters and can make a difference in promoting a better future for all. Targeting global organizations, world leaders, and the average individual, GENI is successfully promoting the need for active participation, accountability and awareness of our world.

Thank you very much (Peter and Patricia) for the wonderful opportunity, as GENI restored my faith in learning that for every negative, sad story about poverty/energy use, you guys are doing some great work and making wonderful gains!
