Jens KlawitterMy name is Jens Klawitter; I'm 26 years old from Berlin, Germany. I'm graduated in "Landscape Use and Nature Conservation" (BS). Right now, I'm studying "Global Change Management" (MS). My specialization is Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which was also the focus of my thesis ("Geodata management, -generating and -visualizing based on a cloud forest project in Puebla, Mexico"). At GENI, one of my tasks has been to work with GIS-Software. I'm in the process of visualizing a number of global concerns (like the increase in CO2 emissions, the transmission grid and a growing population) based on the "GENI-Visualization". Using a couple of web applications, I have been able to make them available for the public on the internet. (click on Global Viz Comparisons) GENI greatly enabled me to inhance my GIS-skills, not only because GENI gave me a perfect working environment (colleagues, hard- and software), but also by giving me the chance to meet inspiring people. The work at GENI was very flexible. I was given the opportunity to work with a dedicated, competent team and was also able to carry out my responsibilities independently.
