Margarita PozoI learned about this volunteer position as a webmaster assistant through volunteermatch.com. I am currently studying Computer Science at California College San Diego. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my degree, so I decided to get more experience through volunteering. I have been able to learn things without being afraid of making mistakes. I had Paul-Michael and Patricia to teach me the ropes on using Dreamweaver and how to put news articles and other things on the GENI website. Whenever I had a problem or a question about where to put something, I was able to ask them for help. Thanks to all my volunteer work at GENI, I have acquired work experience not only with Dreamweaver but I've also learned what it's like to work in a real job setting. I have no previous job experience, so I was able to learn how to work with coworkers and under someone's supervision. The greatest thing of all was that I was able to see how new codes work, something I had not worked with at school. It's just amazing the things you can do with simple codes and the difference they can make on a website. If you were a GENI intern or volunteer and we've missed your name, please contact GENI as soon as possible, including information about the time(s), date(s), and project(s) involved.
