What
the World Wants
Dear GENI
Friend,
As we enter
into the real New Millennium (Jan. 1, 2001), it is
an excellent time for each of us to reflect, take
stock and make plans for the future. The world is
vastly different from one hundred years ago. Just
ask your parents (if old enough) about living without
TV, telephones,
cars, planes, refrigeration, vaccines, etc. So much
that we take for granted was uncommon for our senior
citizens.
Most of
the world that we personally know lives in relative
prosperity. Whether we have lots of assets or a negative
net worth, most of us have adequate shelter, sufficient
nutrition, good health care and ease of movement (transportation). These
blessings of our modern age are usually taken for
granted. By the chance of birth in our society, these
benefits are available to almost everyone.
Yet, over
30% of the human family lives in constant struggle
and survival scratching out a living that by
any measure would be rated substandard. One of GENI's
partner organizations is the World Game Institute:
www.worldgame.org.
The GENI Initiative is borne from the World Game mission:
How
do we make the world work for 100% of humanity in
the shortest possible time through spontaneous cooperation
without ecological damage or disadvantage to anyone?
The
global electric energy grid linking renewable energy
is At the highest priority objective.
I have
enclosed several pages from the World Game's What
the world wants project . It seems overwhelming.
But we hope you will also see how far the world has
come in the last 100 years and realize that
our knowledge can be accelerated to meet the needs
of those who have been left behind. So, count your
blessings and look to what we can do together
in this new century.
In partnership
for the planet
