![]() 27 April 1994 World Conference of the Society for International Development (SID)Dear GENI Friend, GENI made major strides into the mainstream developmental organizations last month. As a financial supporter of this work, I wish you could sometimes attend these special events to see the difference you are making. I was invited to present the GENI solution at the World Conference of the Society for International Development (SID) in Mexico City. We also had an outstanding exhibit that drew all 700 delegates from around the world. This is the first time we have received such in-depth exposure within the world community that focuses their efforts on developing nations. As a result, GENI has new contacts with members of
the United Nations Development Program, SID Chapters
worldwide and several of the Development Bank officials.
What intrigued them most was our work comparing the
availability of electricity to the primary quality
of life indicators: infant
mortality rate, life
expectancy, literacy
and safe
drinking water. In almost every case, once a nation
reaches 2000 kilowatt-hours per capita, they have
moved from the I am sure you are aware of, and also support one
of the many international relief/development organizations.
Now would be a great time for you to forward the GENI
information along to them. You may be the first person
to introduce them to Buckminster Fuller's global solution.
