Geothermal Energy in Tanzania

Areas of Geothermal Interest (Mbeya, Rufiji, Ngorongoro, Singida, Arusha and Musoma)

As a result of missions (SWECO, 1976-1979) two potential target areas for geothermal exploration were identified:
the Arusha region near the Kenyan border in the north, and the Mbeya region between Lake Rukwa and Lake Nyasa (Malawi) in the southwest.
