Russian government greenlights renewable energy subsidy programme

The Russian government has reportedly approved a subsidy programme for renewable energy projects including solar developments.

Bloomberg reported that the Russian government signed a decree which seeks to boost PV, wind and small hydropower projects in the country.

The decree is part of the government’s goal to generate 2.5% of the country’s power from renewable sources by 2020.
