ECNEC approves import of 100 MW power
from Iran

Islamabad - The Executive Committee
of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Wednesday
approved Rs. 3664 million including foreign exchange
component of Rs. 1934 million, for import of 100 MW
electricity from Iran for Gwadar and laying of transmission
line for this purpose.
The Council also approved an amount
of Rs. 4777.030 million including foreign exchange
component of 1890.920 million for development of renewable
energy in NWFP province.
Similarly, an amount of Rs. 4001 million
including foreign exchange component of Rs. 1090.200
million has also been approved for renewable energy
development sector investment programme (construction
of Marala Hydel Power Station).
The ECNEC also approved the acquisition
and development of land, and construction of office
building and accommodation facilities for Nuclear
Power Plant supplier of KANUPP-2 project for the generation
of 8800 MW of electricity.
The council also approved the compensation
to the flood affectees of Mirani Dam area while the
ECNEC also approved amount for water conservation
and productivity enhancement through efficiency irrigation
system.
The council approved an amount of Rs.
10675 million including foreign exchange component
of Rs. 9162.200 million for Sindh water sector improvement
project phase-I.
