Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr Hasan Yunis Wednesday [14 February] met with Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority Dr Umar Kitana.

The meeting dealt with studies on developing Gaza Strip power grid.

Dr Yunis stressed during the meeting Egypt's keenness on supporting the Palestinian electricity sector in order to meet various development requirements of the Palestinian people.

He added that the Egyptian electricity sector rehabilitated the Palestinian electrical network with the aim of assuaging sufferings of the Palestinian people, especially areas that have been denied electricity due to Israeli attacks. He said Gaza power station had been reoperated. The two sides agreed on increasing joint coopertion as regards training programmes to prepare Palestinian cadres at specialised training centres of the Egyptian electricity sector.
