Turkey, Greece to Cooperate in Electrical Energy,
Natural Gas Pipeline

Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi
Guler said on Wednesday that Turkey will provide Greece
with 137 million kilowatt-hour electricity in the
last week of July and in August.
Turkey and Greece signed an agreement envisaging
cooperation in electricity energy.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Guler said, "we
will provide Greece with 137 million kilowatt-hour
electricity in the last week of July and in August.
On the other hand, Turkey-Greece natural gas pipeline
project is about to be completed. A ceremony will
be held in August with the participation of Turkish
and Greek prime ministers to mark the transport of
first natural gas through the pipeline."
Meanwhile, Greek Development Minister Demetris Sioufas
said that the natural gas pipeline project will also
include Italy in future.
He said that they aimed at signing a tripartite agreement
among Turkey, Greece and Italy to cooperate for a
southern energy corridor in Europe.
