Amman: Jordan will supply the West
Bank town of Jericho with cheaper electricity in
less than a year, a government official said on
Tuesday.
Jordan's national electricity company
and its counterpart in the occupied Jerusalem governorate
run by the Palestinian National Authority signed
an agreement on Monday in Amman to provide Jericho
with the electricity by July 2007.
Ahmad Hyasat, the director general
of Jordan's National Electricity Company, said "the
electricity Jordan provides Jericho will certainly
be cheaper than that presently received from Israel."
