Russia begins electricity supplies to Belarus

Russia has begun electricity supplies to Belarus, a source in
the electricity sector has told RIA Novosti.
"Russian electricity supplies to Belarus began at 0000 Moscow time today
[2100 on 3 Feb], the power line has been switched on," the source said.
[State-controlled electricity company] Inter RAO UES has confirmed this information
but did not give any further details.
Earlier, speaking about a new contract for electricity exports from Russia
to Belarus, an Inter RAO UES representative said that the contract would be
signed after a sitting of the Belarusian commission on imports, "thus,
immediately after that supplies at the price set in the contract will begin".
