Power Ring - Baltic Ring Study
(BSR) The Baltic Ring Study is a co-operative project
between 18 power companies and utility organisations
from the countries around the Baltic Sea, i.e Estonia,
Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany,
Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The study was
started at the beginning of 1996 and was completed
at the end of 1997. The Baltic Ring Study is based
on a vision: a vision of creating a common electricity
market around the Baltic Sea, emphasising the need
for environmental improvements. The Baltic Ring
Study has outlined this vision. The comprehensive
analyses of the study have led to a series of conclusions
and recommendations identifying the obstacles and
recommending how to overcome them. (Executive
