July 26, 1995 R. Buckminster Fuller Centennial Symposium & Celebration, BBC Scotland InterviewDear GENI Friend, Hundreds of people from around the world have just left San Diego after celebrating the Centennial of Buckminster Fuller. The impact of this gathering will be felt for years to come. Unleashing so many new trimtabs is bound to generate the Design Science Revolution we advocate. GENI was honored to coordinate this unique global event which spanned four universities and Balboa Park. The Dymaxion Car, Film Festival and Bucky for Kids Festival were a big hit. Many of the seminars were standing room only, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were very special production events. Soon we will have both audio and video tapes available for those who could not attend. As our thanks for your continued support over the
years, we've enclosed Bucky's statement on In addition, the exposure of our work jumped to a new level this week in the scientific world. A copy of New Scientist is enclosed, and the global energy grid was the cover story! Two days later, BBC Scotland called for an interview. We expected there to be a bounce from the Bucky Centennial, but we didn't think it would be so big and so soon. Thanks to you, this year should be the most important time for our work, ever.
P.S.. Peter is off on a well deserved vacation this week. He will be travelling in August - September to New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila and Hokkaido. Please call your local affiliate or this office to assist in making this tour a success. Keywords : R. Buckminster Fuller
