GLOBAL ENERGY NETWORK INSTITUTE

a solution to global problems
19 July 1993

Dear GENI Friend,

We've had a tremendous launch of our campaign to Fund the Vision of GENI. Our three events in June (San Diego and Toronto Contribution Events and the ELI Business School) produced cash and pledges totalling $22,700. This puts us well on our way to creating the Computer Simulation Model and Documentary/Film.

GENI's credential grows stronger as another article is being published in the book, "Power Generation Technology". Entitled "Remote Renewable Energy Resources Made Possible by International Electrical Interconnections — a Priority on All Continents", I co-authored the piece with Dr. Tom Hammons, chairman of the International Practices Committee of the IEEE Power Engineering Society, and Joe Falcon, President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This book is being delivered to 8,500 utility and energy executives around the world this month.

In addition, we authored the attached opinion-editorial which states the enormous economic conversion potential of the GENI project. If you can help get this published in your newspaper or company newsletter, please let me know how I could assist.

Your financial pledge is very important to GENI, and I thank you for your commitment to this global vision. It makes a big difference in delivering on our promise.

Many thanks,

Peter Meisen
Executive Director
